Two Armed Civilians Found After Crossing Razor Wire at Border Checkpoint in Armavir Region
According to Shamshyan.com, an emergency incident occurred in the Armavir region on January 25. Around 5:30 PM, a notification was received by the Baghramyan division of the police from a border guard unit of the Russian Federation, indicating that they had discovered two civilians without identification documents in the Yervandshat-Bagaran area who claimed to be locals.
A response team from the Armavir regional police and the operational unit of the Baghramyan division, led by the head of the division, was dispatched to the site. Staff from the National Security Service of Armenia's Armavir regional division and the Russian military unit stationed in Armenia also arrived.
After taking the necessary measures, they apprehended Armavir residents Igor B., aged 25, and Mkhitar P., aged 27, from an area monitored by the border guards in the Yervandshat administrative territory. Reports indicate that Igor B. was found with an AK-type rifle, while Mkhitar P. had a Carabin-type firearm, along with several cartridges.
It has been established that earlier that day, around 4:30 PM, they had crawled under the barbed wire passing through the well-known "Nasosner" area of the Yervandshat administrative region, illegally entering a restricted border zone in order to hunt.
The apprehended individuals were found at the indicated location with their weapons and have since been arrested.
