Opel Rolls Into Gorge on Vanadzor-Dilijan Road; 5 Injured
Today, on January 22, a serious car accident occurred in the Lori region. Around 17:10, on the 6th kilometer section of the Vanadzor-Dilijan highway, the driver of an Opel vehicle with license plate 35 GN 951 veered off the roadway under still-unknown circumstances and slid approximately 30 meters into a gorge.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, as a result of the accident, the driver of the Opel and four passengers received preliminary medical assistance from emergency doctors of the Vanadzor Medical Center, who arrived promptly at the scene. They were then transported to the Vanadzor Medical Center.
Emergency services from the Ministry of Emergency Situations' Lori Regional Rescue Department arrived promptly at the scene with one firefighting unit. Rescuers quickly transported the injured on a stretcher to the waiting ambulance from the Vanadzor Hospital and provided first aid at the site before moving them to the hospital.
