Father Engaged in Sexual Relations with His 14-Year-Old Daughter, Girl Gave Birth

The Investigative Committee of Armenia's Armavir region has uncovered details regarding a case involving sexual relations with a minor under the age of 16. The girl’s father has been arrested.

On May 13, 2019, at 3:20 PM, a report was made to the police from a medical center regarding a 14-year-old minor, a resident of the Armavir region born in 2005, who sought medical assistance and was found to be approximately 22 to 23 weeks pregnant.

A criminal case was initiated by the Armenian police under Article 141, Part 3, Clause 2 of the Criminal Code of Armenia, with investigations being conducted by the Armavir regional investigative unit of the Investigative Committee of Armenia. The minor girl has been recognized as a victim.

During the investigation, on August 12, 2019, the medical center reported that the underage resident of the Armavir region had given birth. Necessary investigative actions have been conducted for the criminal case, including the questioning of several individuals, blood sample collections, and the appointment of forensic genetic examinations.

According to the results of the examinations, the father of the child is confirmed to be the father of the underage girl. He has been arrested. The investigation is ongoing.
