More than 5 kg of methamphetamine discovered in postal shipment, Armenian Customs Committee reports
The staff of the Anti-Smuggling Department of the State Revenue Committee recently uncovered another case of large-scale drug smuggling through the territory of Armenia during inspections conducted at the "Zvartnots" Airport Cargo Complex. This was reported by the Customs Committee.
Specifically, in a postal shipment from Armenia to Japan, under the name of an Iranian citizen S.G., a substance resembling methamphetamine weighing a total of 5 kg and 150 grams was discovered. The walls and bottom of two cardboard boxes present in the parcel served as the hideout.
As a result of immediate measures taken by the anti-smuggling staff, the Iranian citizen who sent the parcel was located and detained the following day in Yerevan. He has been arrested under a criminal case initiated by the Investigative Department of the Customs Committee.
