Engagement in Specified Seasonal Work Does Not Affect Benefit Rights
Recently, the government decided to grant privileges to all those engaged in seasonal work, stating that such employment does not affect benefit rights in any way. This was announced by the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Zaruhi Batoyan on her Facebook page, where she presented the list of these jobs.
1. Snow removal work on operational routes, adjacent and station lines.
2. Land and asphalt work for road construction.
3. Construction and capital renovation work of electric stations, including: a) reconstruction of urban telephone networks from overhead to underground cable lines, preparation of concrete objects in connection with concrete sewage, b) installation of underground and underwater armored cables, c) construction of overhead columnar and stationary urban telephone networks and intercity telegraphic-telephone lines, d) chemical treatment of poles done outdoors.
4. Work in forestry and the provision of services, including planting seedlings, forest restoration, and gathering forest resources.
5. Fishing and the hunting of lake animals, along with related work on processing fish and other products from lake animals.
6. Work at sugar factories related to the production of sugar from beets, drying beets in drying facilities, and processing work performed in sugar factories during the sugar production period.
7. Work on the pickling, canning, and packaging of fruits and vegetables.
8. Agricultural work, including: a) preparatory work, b) spring agricultural work, c) harvesting, d) post-harvest work, e) organizing the birth of agricultural animals, f) feeding and caring for the young until four months old, g) pasture management for agricultural animals, h) organizing shearing.
9. Peat work, including the extraction, drying, and collection of peat, except for work conducted by workers in permanent mines on mechanized aggregates and power equipment (hydropeat, extraction from drilling and machining equipment, etc.).
10. River and lake reconnaissance work.
11. Water distribution and melioration work, drying, and irrigation work.
12. In the iodine industry, all work involving the extraction and burning of lake algae and related work.
13. Work on land decontamination and restoration.
14. Work of caretakers in green areas (gardeners).
15. Work of fire inspectors in state reserves.
16. Engineering reconnaissance work (topographic surveyors, workers of drilling machines).
17. Work at outdoor food establishments.
18. Services and work related to winter recreation.
19. Maintenance work associated with the operation of outdoor swimming pools.
20. Work of bonificators (workers implementing malaria prevention measures).
At the end, the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs emphasized, “Register seasonal work, be more protected in terms of labor rights, and accumulate work experience to gain the right to a pension.”
