Abkhazia's Supreme Court Invalidates Presidential Election Results

Abkhazia's Supreme Court has annulled the first-instance court's decision to validate the results of the presidential elections. This was reported by RIA Novosti agency.

It is noteworthy that the opposition has been demanding the resignation of President Raul Khajimba through protests for several days.

The second round of the presidential elections in Abkhazia took place on September 8, 2019, where the incumbent leader Raul Khajimba won with 47.39% of the votes. Opposition candidate Alkhas Kvitsinia received 46.19% and contested the election results in court.
