Chief Prosecutor Accepts Mothers Who Lost Children in Illegal Adoptions
The Chief Prosecutor Artur Davtyan has agreed to meet with mothers who lost their children in illegal adoptions, provided they bring their identification documents. These mothers are demanding the detention of Razmik Abrahamyan, the director of the "Republican Institute of Reproductive Health, Perinatology, Obstetrics, and Gynecology" (Republican Maternity Hospital), and his deputy, Arshak Jergezyan.
It’s worth noting that Abrahamyan is accused under part 2, point 2 of Article 167 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia (illegally separating a child from their parents or changing the child, committed by a group of individuals) and part 3 of Article 200 (commercial bribery). On December 22, the Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan, under the chairmanship of Judge Davit Balayan, returned from deliberation and rejected the investigator's petition to detain Abrahamyan.
