Ukrainian Boeing That Crashed in Tehran Caught Fire in the Air, Iranian Civil Aviation Authority Reports

The Ukrainian Boeing that crashed near Tehran caught fire in the air before colliding with the ground. This is mentioned in a report presented by Iran's Civil Aviation Organization.

According to eyewitness accounts, the fire was visible on the aircraft while it was still in the air and spread throughout the front part of the plane,” the document specifies.

The agency believes that by connecting various details of the plane's crash, it can be inferred that upon noticing malfunctions, the crew quickly attempted to return to the airport. Additionally, the pilots did not report or failed to report the malfunction detected on the aircraft.

It is reminded that the tragedy occurred the day before. The Boeing 737-800 aircraft owned by 'Ukrainian Airlines', which was operating a Tehran-Kiev flight, crashed just 2 minutes after taking off from Imam Khomeini International Airport. The disaster resulted in the death of 176 people. The preliminary hypothesis suggests that the cause of the aircraft's failure was an engine fire.
