Iran's President Announces 'Significant Changes' in the World

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has stated that significant changes have occurred in the region and the world following the assassination of General Qasem Soleimani. This information was reported by the РИА Новости agency, referencing the official website of the Iranian President.

“President Hassan Rouhani announced that since last week, significant changes have been noted in Iran, the region, and the world,” reads the statement published on the Iranian President's website.

The American base at Ain al-Asad in western Iraq has been subjected to rocket fire. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran has claimed responsibility for the rocket attack on the American airbase in Iraq.

On January 3, General Qasem Soleimani of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps was killed in Baghdad. Following the general’s assassination, the Swiss ambassador to Iran, Markus Leitner, who represents U.S. interests in Tehran, was summoned to the Iranian Foreign Ministry.

Reports also indicate that U.S. military forces have been put on high alert following the killing of the Iranian general. Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has vowed to take revenge for the assassination of General Qasem Soleimani, the head of the “Quds” special unit of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
