Protest Alert: The Only Public Transport Route for Workers Has Changed

Recently, Auroranews received a protest alert from employees of factories operating on Arin Berd Street in Yerevan. They noted that after the holidays, they were faced with an issue as the only minibus route that takes them to work, route 38, has changed.

“There are many factories in the area, along with a large shopping center. Can you imagine how many people rely on this transport? At this moment, we are forced to use taxis, but it is clear to all of us what a significant expense that entails,” the citizens expressed, adding that they contacted the municipality to voice their concerns.

“The municipality told us that they are looking for alternatives and will try to resolve the issue, but they did not specify a timeframe,” said the citizens. In turn, Auroranews contacted the press secretary of the Yerevan municipality, Hakob Karapetyan, to understand what actions will be taken regarding the matter. To examine the issue more thoroughly, Mr. Karapetyan requested a written inquiry.
