VIDEO: The Aircraft was in Good Condition - Press Conference by Representatives of 'Ukraine International Airlines'
"We cannot comment on the speculations, special working groups will handle that. There are hotlines through which you can get information regarding any questions related to the accident," said representatives of 'Ukraine International Airlines' during a press conference at Kyiv International Airport, discussing details of the incident involving a Ukrainian aircraft in Iran.
Initially, the representatives talked about why they and the Kyiv airport were unaware of the accident when there were already numerous publications in the media. One of the speakers noted that they could not provide any information until an official version of the incident was available. "We had information, which we verified through several sources, and that takes time. After confirming and receiving official replies, we made a statement," the representative said.
It was mentioned that a hotline has been established through which relatives of all the victims of the accident and concerned individuals can ask questions and receive answers regarding the aviation accident details.
"At this moment, we can confirm that the aircraft was in technically normal condition, and the crew consisted of our best employees. 'Ukraine International Airlines' is not entitled to develop its own hypotheses. A special investigation bureau is being established to study the causes of the accident," the representative added.
The airline's employees also reported that it was a regular flight, and if there were even a slight suspicion of technical failures, the aircraft would not have taken off, and the crew was professional.
Data about all passengers of the aircraft will be published in the next hour, and each will be communicated to the country of which the passengers are citizens. The list will be published on the airline's official website.
The representatives stated that they are collaborating with Tehran Airport.
"There are already many individuals, relatives of the victims, family members of the crew, who have arrived in Kyiv, and we have accommodated them in hotels and are working with them. The majority of the passengers were not Ukrainians but foreigners who were to transit to other countries from Boryspil Airport. Few in the passenger list were Ukrainians," they noted.
