Report on Citizens Injured by Explosives and Fireworks Seeking Medical Help

According to the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia, during the festive period from December 31 to January 7, 95 individuals injured by explosives and fireworks sought medical attention at medical centers across the country. Among them were 29 (30%) children aged 7-14, 11 (12%) adolescents aged 15-17, and 55 (58%) adults aged 18 and above.

Of the total injured, 89 (94%) were male and 6 (6%) were female. In 74 (78%) cases, the injuries were various types of damage to the wrist and forearm, while 18 (19%) individuals sustained injuries to the frontal area of the head (including the eyes, ears, forehead, and lips). Additionally, 2 (2%) suffered injuries to the lower extremities, and 1 (1%) individual had a pelvic injury.

Misuse of explosives and fireworks poses a serious threat to your health.
