Agreement on Transit Export of Animals through Iran
The newspaper "Hayastani Hanrapetutyun" reports: "Our entrepreneurs have paid large sums of money to transport animals by plane to Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and elsewhere. This will no longer be the case, as there is now an agreement on the transit export of live animals through Iranian territory.
This information was provided by Anush Harutyunyan, head of the information and public relations department at the food safety inspection body under the government. She stated that the negotiations lasted almost a year and were successfully concluded just before the New Year. The transit export agreement was reached between the Animal Health Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran and our State Food Safety Inspectorate (SSTM)." More details can be found in today’s issue of the newspaper.
