Video: Individuals Detained, Weapons and Ammunition Found
The police are committed to combating the causes and environment that lead to criminal activities. Efforts are being made to eliminate criminal subculture and to root principles specific to civil society.
On December 26, police officers conducted checks at potential gathering places of individuals associated with criminal subculture. Several dozen suspicious vehicles were inspected, and some of them were taken to a secured area.
Several dozen individuals were detained by various territorial divisions of the police based on different suspicions. During the intensified operations, instances of crimes were also revealed. A factory-numbered pistol, a substance resembling marijuana, a narcotic residue dropper, a knife, a baton, and more were discovered and confiscated.
As part of this policy, extensive work is being carried out, including the operational preventive measure “Arsenal,” aimed at detecting and confiscating illegally held weapons and ammunition as well as cold weapons. The initiative is being implemented not only in the capital but also in the regions. In addition to the staff from territorial divisions, employees from the main departments of organized crime investigation and criminal intelligence are also involved in the operations.
As a result of explanatory work carried out during the measures, cases of voluntary surrender of illegal weapons and ammunition have been recorded in the police divisions of Kanaker-Zeytun, Ararat, Artashat, and Hrazdan.
Thus, the consistent and effective measures aimed at ensuring public safety are a daily function of the police. The police will remain steadfast in the fight against criminal habits. Maximum efforts will be made to ensure that among our society, especially among the youth, the concepts of
