The Special Investigation Service Must Publish the Grounds for Its Decision: Arthur Sakunts
Human rights defender Arthur Sakunts wrote on his Facebook page: “In light of the significant public interest, the Special Investigation Service is obliged to promptly publish the grounds for the decision to involve the President of the Constitutional Court as a defendant. We need to know what specific abuse of official powers is being referred to. If this abuse relates to the powers of a Constitutional Court judge, no such charge can be brought without the consent of the Constitutional Court. If it pertains to his previous official capacities—such as being a Member of Parliament, the head of a parliamentary committee, or the head of the parliamentary staff, during which he served as Minister of Justice, we will be dealing with a completely different situation.”
