Snow Falling Across the Republic: Black Ice Present on Roads

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that as of December 27 at 22:56, the roads in the Republic of Armenia are mostly passable. The Vardenyats Pass is open for all types of vehicles, but for trucks, chains are required.

There are patches of black ice on the Vardenyats Pass and the Gorayk-'Zanger' road. Snowfall is occurring in the towns of Aparan in the Aragatsotn Province, Aragats village, Jermuk in the Vayots Dzor Province, in Gavar, Sevan, Vardenis, and Jambarak in the Gegharkunik Province, in Abovyan city in the Kotayk Province, as well as on the Saravan-'Zanger' road and in the twisty roads of Dilijan.

According to information from the Emergency Situations Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia's North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed to trucks.
