Is a New Test Required After the Expiration of a Driver's License? Sergey Ghahramanyan Clarifies
The head of the NGO 'Road Traffic Safety and Supervision' and a member of the Public Council to the Chief of the Armenian Police, Sergey Ghahramanyan, wrote on his Facebook page: 'Dear friends, citizens, drivers, especially those with a driver's license, there has been much discussion in various platforms, groups, and even outside of Facebook regarding whether if your driver’s license expires (the plastic card is always valid for 10 years) after January 1, 2020, you need to take a new test in addition to the fees for replacing it. Such falsehoods could not be fabricated without some hidden motive. There is no such requirement, there has been no change, and no test is needed for the reissuance of a driver's license. Allow me to say in advance, such a thing will never happen. My friends, do not fall for manipulations, you are educated and knowledgeable individuals. Some people are going to the Anti-Corruption Committee's door, smashing their own driver's licenses and claiming they are broken just to get in. This creates pointless and aimless queues, which overload other functions and force other legitimate license applicants to wait unnecessarily. What would a liar spread such absurd information?'
