Ice Sculpture of Gevorg and Gohar Vardanian to be Installed in Moscow

An ice sculpture dedicated to the legendary Soviet spies Gevorg and Gohar Vardanian will be installed on Poklonnaya Hill in Moscow, as reported by ria.ru, citing the press service of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service.

The ice sculpture will depict the couple during their first marriage in 1946. It is known that the Vardanian couple married three times, but only during the first, official ceremony did Gohar Vardanian wear a white dress. The other marriages took place amid intelligence operations.

The source specifies that the unveiling of the sculpture will take place on Monday as part of the “Ice Moscow” New Year festival. “We could not remain indifferent to the extraordinary fate of the Vardanians, who dedicated their entire lives to serving our state, and we want to share their heroism with a broad audience,” stated festival author Alexander Kovtunez.
