The October 27 Criminal Case Will Be Reopened: Anahit Bakhsyan

The separated part of the October 27 criminal case will be reopened. Anahit Bakhsyan, the widow of one of the victims of the October 27 terrorist attack, announced this on her Facebook page.

“Dear people, I would like to inform you that today I received a response to my complaint against the December 18, 2019 decision of the Armenian Prosecutor General to terminate the October 27 criminal case. It has been satisfied based on the competent and well-grounded 37-page complaint of my lawyer, Zarouhi Mejlumyan. This means that the case against the organizers and sponsors of the terrorist act committed against the state of Armenia on October 27 will go back to trial, meaning that the Republic of Armenia acts as a victim of this state terrorism and will do everything to reveal our state’s enemies, whether they are from within or outside,” she stated.

Recall that on December 18, Anahit Bakhsyan appealed to the Prosecutor General with a request to overturn the decision to terminate the separated part of the October 27 case and to initiate a new investigation. This part of the case was separated in 2000 to determine whether there were other participants, instigators, and potential organizers of the crime. However, the Prosecutor General's Office terminated this isolated case in 2004, citing a lack of criminal incident.
