In 2020, it will be possible to pay property tax and waste disposal fees via terminals: Mayor Marutyan
The Yerevan City Council set the local tax rates for the year 2020 during its session today. The issue was presented by Armen Harutyunyan, the head of the city hall's revenue collection and accounting department, who noted that this proposal mainly retains the rates effective in 2019.
The change is related to amendments to the law on "Waste Collection and Sanitation." "For non-residential buildings, the waste disposal fee is set according to the total area of the building, specifying the following. For hotel businesses, all types of transport parking lots, car parks, airports, bus stations, recreation facilities, bases, roads, sports buildings, the rate per square meter was set at 20-50 drams, now it is proposed to set it at 30 drams," said Armen Harutyunyan.
Additionally, for administrative, communication, and healthcare buildings, the price is legally set at 15-20 drams per square meter; we propose to set it at 18 drams. For military barracks, the rate is set at 8 drams per square meter, and for commercial and public food services outside buildings, the price planned was 50-100 drams, it is proposed to set it at 70 drams.
For non-domestic waste disposal, it is proposed to set the fee according to volume at 3,000 drams per cubic meter of waste, and according to weight at 10,000 drams per ton of waste. Mayor Haik Marutyan also added that in 2020 it will be possible to pay property tax and waste disposal fees via terminals.
