If everything goes smoothly, we will announce a tender for the acquisition of buses at the beginning of 2020, says Deputy Mayor
The donor organization is already carrying out preparatory work to involve specialists and prepare tender packages for the acquisition of buses to address Yerevan's transportation issues. This was announced today, December 25, during a meeting of the Yerevan City Council by Yerevan’s Deputy Mayor Hrachya Sargsyan.
“If everything goes smoothly, we will announce the tender in February, which will allow us to acquire buses. Of course, you know that the number of buses required for the new network is quite large, and it will be challenging to produce these buses all at once. We expect to have a certain quantity in 2020, followed by additional acquisitions,” he stated.
The Deputy Mayor also added that once we have a signed document, we will inform everyone, including details about the timelines, and the preliminary budget is between 120-150 million dollars. According to him, the buses will be acquired through loan financing, as the city lacks such funds.
