I receive 400,000 drams, I do not receive any other money, I would have given that 3,000. Mayor Marutyan on the case against him
The Corruption Prevention Commission has launched a case against Mayor Hayk Marutyan for the apparent violation of incompatibility requirements.
Speaking about this, the mayor stated: “For so long, there was no need to waste resources on something that is obvious. It could have simply been 3,000 drams paid to the state registry to see that I have not been the director of that company since before I became mayor. If that 3,000 drams weren't there, I would have given it. I receive a salary of 400,000 drams and I don't receive any bonuses, meaning I don't get any extra money. My net salary is 400,000 drams, and I was ready to give that 3,000 drams so they could check and avoid wasting time and resources. I wanted to do that, but I was afraid it would be considered a bribe, and there would be another case related to that. I have the impression that all the corrupt individuals in the country have been caught, and now they are dealing with such issues.”
