Germans Trust Macron More Than Merkel

Germans have more trust in French President Emmanuel Macron than in the country's Chancellor Angela Merkel, according to data from a survey conducted by the British research company Kantar.

The results of the survey, commissioned by the Funke media group, were presented by the Berliner Morgenpost, part of the company. The findings indicate that 57 percent of respondents have a "rather high" level of trust in Macron.

Participants were asked about their attitudes towards the leaders of seven countries. The last position was shared by the presidents of the USA and Turkey, Donald Trump and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who received trust from only 6 percent of the respondents.
