Reports about the 13th Pension are False
Will there be a 13th pension or not? Auroranews continues to receive calls regarding this question. Citizens are curious whether they will receive the 13th pension and how accurate the news is.
Dear citizens, we would like to reiterate that the news does not correspond to reality. It all started after Zohrab Yeghanyan, an advisor to the former president of the Football Federation of Armenia, Arthur Vanetsyan, wrote that to restore social justice, all pensioners should receive a 13th pension this year, since the state apparatus receives large bonuses, which even reach millions. For instance, instead of giving 2 million drams to one person, it could be given to 40 pensioners as a 13th pension.
Yeghanyan's post was disseminated by several websites, and the information was perceived as if pensioners were indeed going to receive a 13th pension. The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Zaroui Batoyan, addressed the publications, stating, “This is cheap misinformation. There is no such thing.”
