Obstructing Journalists' Professional Activities Is Unacceptable: Human Rights Defender
Obstructing journalists' professional activities or unlawfully intervening in them is unacceptable, regardless of anyone's favor or antipathy. Journalists or any other representatives of the media are simply performing their professional duties. In doing so, they ensure each of us, and the public as a whole, the right to be informed. Their work is protected by our country's Constitution and laws.
The Human Rights Defender condemns and expresses concern over the treatment towards the members of the film crew of the 'Kentron' television company's news program, recorded today. When conducting any civic action or expressing complaints on any issue, it is essential to act within the law, respect the rights and dignity of others, and not obstruct the professional work of others.
