Children from Border Villages Visit the Presidential Residence

On December 24, children from the communities of Chinari, Aygepar, Movses, Nerk'in Karmiraghbyur, and Paravakar in the Tavush region, as well as the Shale Center in Gyumri, were hosted at the Presidential Residence of the Republic of Armenia. President Armen Sarkissian invited the little ones during his working visit to Tavush and Shirak regions to participate in a New Year holiday event and celebrate the upcoming New Year together.

A festive show program featuring various games was organized for the little guests at the presidential residence. They were greeted and received well-wishes from President Armen Sarkissian and his wife Nune Sarkissian, after which they lit the Christmas tree lights together.

The president remarked, "Children from border communities are very active; they simply need more attention. Through such events, they can also invite children living in Yerevan to their celebrations." He added that he always receives positive energy from any child, regardless of whether they are his grandchildren or not.

The president's wife stated that children represent a small universe filled with positive energy for her. "I am impressed by these children; they are not shy at all, they talked to us, danced, and were very active," noted Nune Sarkissian.

In addition to being hosted at the presidential residence, the children also had the opportunity to watch a cartoon at the 'Moscow' cinema, stroll around the capital, and receive New Year gifts from Santa Claus.
