Armen Tavadyan Refuses Any Connection with the Special Investigative Service, Defense Attorney Says

Armen Tavadyan, the owner of the 5th Channel, refuses to have any connection with the Special Investigative Service. This was stated by Tavadyan's attorney, Hovhannes Khudoyan, during a conversation with reporters, according to news.am.

It is noteworthy that Armen Tavadyan was arrested today in connection with a criminal case involving Varuzhan Mkrtchyan, a supporter of the second president of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan.

The defense attorney reported that Tavadyan has not expressed any attitude towards this case and has not provided testimony. “He believes there is no basis for prosecuting him in this case. This has been done in some sense to silence political activity as a media owner,” he stated.
