Ukrainians of Armenian Descent Decide to Gift Unique Park to Yerevan

On December 21, a large-scale end-of-year conference of the Ukrainian Armenian Union took place in Kyiv. According to AnalitikaUA.net, during the presentations of various projects, one project stood out: a unique park that will serve as a gift from the Ukrainian Armenian Union to the capital of Armenia.

Present at the event were members of Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada and Armenian MPs, specifically members of the intergovernmental parliamentary group on Ukraine-Armenia relations led by Artem Dmytruk, as well as representatives from the Armenian Parliament headed by Hovhannes Igityan. Also present was Zareh Sinanyan, the Chief Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Armenia.

Media experts, leading figures in culture and science, and other guests from Ukraine and Armenia also participated in the conference. Reports were prepared by the committees of the Ukrainian Armenian Union, regional communities, and the organization’s leadership. A project for the construction of a park for skateboarding in Armenia, initiated by architect Armen Shatvoryan, was presented.

The head of the International Relations Department of the Yerevan City Hall highlighted the prospects of such social cooperation. David Gevorgyan ceremoniously awarded Vilen Shatvoryan, president of the Ukrainian Armenian Union, on behalf of the mayor of Yerevan.

Within the framework of the meeting, the fourth awards ceremony for the winners of the UHM scholarship program took place, which selected students Zhanna Hovhannisyan, Tamara Hovhannisyan, and Susanna Khachikyan.

A gala concert followed the practical session, featuring Ukrainian and Armenian stars. Awards were also presented for contributions to Armenian-Ukrainian relations, with notable experts, politicians, journalists, cultural figures, and scholars receiving accolades.
