Minor Brother and Sister of the Brothers Accused of Killing a Policeman Transferred to the SOS Children's Village

Vice President of the National Assembly of Armenia, Lena Nazaryan, wrote on her Facebook page: “Two months after the incident involving the killing of a policeman by underage brothers in Yerevan, their family story also came to light. It turned out that there are two more minors in the family. The video shows that 9-year-old Norayr and 12-year-old Gohar are living in extremely poor conditions, do not attend school, and are overwhelmed by household chores.

To find out about the steps taken by the state body regarding the protection of children's social rights, I reached out to the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia. I believe it is important for everyone to know that the children's care is now being provided at the “SOS Children's Village” and they are attending school. The only way to protect minors or to prevent crimes committed by them is by safeguarding children's social rights.”
