Arthur Sargsyan Appointed Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Defense

By the decision of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Arthur Sargsyan, the head of the Department of Material and Technical Support of the Ministry of Defense, has been appointed as the Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Defense. This information was confirmed in our conversation by the press secretary of the Prime Minister, Vladimir Karapetyan.

It is noteworthy that a few days ago, the Prime Minister dismissed the previous Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Defense, Garnik Hayrapetyan.

Arthur Sargsyan's professional experience includes the following positions: from 2002 to 2005, he served as an expert in the legal acts expertise department of the Ministry of Justice of Armenia, and later as a first-class expert and then leading specialist; from 2005 to 2007, he was a leading specialist and then the chief specialist in the legal department of the government staff; from 2008 to 2014, he led the legal department of the government staff; and from February 5, 2014, he became the deputy head-minister of the government staff.

In June 2017, Sargsyan was relieved of his position and appointed as the first deputy head of the government staff. In April 2018, he was dismissed from that position as well. A month later, he was appointed as the head of the Department of Material and Technical Support of the Ministry of Defense.
