New Oil Reserve Discovered in Turkey
New oil reserves have been discovered around Diyarbakır, specifically in Siirt (Saghert), according to ermenihaber. It is noted that until today, about 700 barrels of oil were being extracted daily from 5 oil wells in Siirt, located at a depth of 2500 meters.
However, during the oil exploration operations, a new oil reserve has now been found, estimated at 11.2 million barrels. Thus, it is expected that Turkey’s oil production will reach up to 1,000 barrels per day, and subsequently, this figure will double.
It should be recalled that prior to this, oil production and refining provided an investment of 200 million Turkish lira to the Turkish economy.
