Greece to Acquire Strike Drones from the US and Israel for Use Against Turkey
The British newspaper 'Times' reports that Greece is preparing to purchase strike unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) from the United States and Israel. According to Greek officials, these strike drones will be used against aerial technology intruding in the region during Turkey's gas exploration operations in the eastern Mediterranean, as reported by Ermenihaber.
A total of three drones will be acquired from the United States, and two from Israel. Turkey had previously sent its first drone to northern Cyprus, prompting Greece to announce that it is prepared to destroy any unmanned aerial vehicle sent by Turkey into Cypriot airspace.
