Who Are the Arrested Officials of the Customs Service?

According to the newspaper 'Zhoghovurd', on December 9, it became known that a group of officials from the Eastern Customs Office of the State Revenue Committee (SRC) exploited their official positions for selfish purposes against the interests of the customs service. Specifically, they failed to carry out proper customs supervision of imported goods as required by law, including their obligations to identify, document, and prevent violations.

In this context, goods imported from Turkey into Armenia, intended for sale, were not cleared through customs in accordance with the law, with the complicity of these officials, and their entry was not documented. Six officials of the customs service suspected of committing the aforementioned criminal acts, as well as two citizens, have been arrested.

It should be noted that the law enforcement agencies did not reveal the identity of these officials. However, 'Zhoghovurd' has learned their names. According to reports circulating in the SRC, they are Erik Farmanyan, Vahan Shahinyan, Tigran Hovakimyan, and Taron Stepanyan.
