Anna Hakobyan: 'My dear Mher, our children do not need SUVs'

In response to journalist and publicist Mher Arshakyan's statement regarding the Prime Minister's daughter traveling in a secured vehicle, Prime Minister's wife Anna Hakobyan wrote on her Facebook page:

'My dear Mher, you are misunderstanding reality... Our children do not need SUVs, they do not need bodyguards, and they do not need a state residence. Shushan still feels embarrassed to invite her friends to our home because she does not want to be different from them.

Ashot always says during every meeting, 'Mom, you remember I'm coming from the army, there won't be any bodyguard with me, I'll be getting around by public transport and taxis,' and I reply every time to postpone the family argument, 'You will come, we will talk, my son.'

Maria is regularly crying that she cannot go anywhere alone and is always under the attentive gaze of certain people. By the way, she mentioned that the car belongs to the state, because she does not consider it hers, not because she sees herself as the state.

Arpi told me again a week ago that she wants to go to our house because she wants her toys from there. We brought the toys back with us, and I believe you understand what the child misses.

Dear, no police SUV, surrounded by people with automatic firearms, can be attractive to our children because we have raised them differently; their value system is entirely different. If they aspire to some luxuries, they know they must earn them with their own sweat. For instance, Maria is saving some money from her salary to buy a car for herself.

I wrote all this sincerely, as first-hand information that will be useful when analyzing our family's matters.'
