Winter Draft Kicks Off in Artsakh

On December 17, a ceremonial event was held at the Artsakh Defense Army's central recruitment center to mark the start of the winter military draft. The first group of draftees was congratulated by Major General Jalal Harutyunyan, the Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the army, Colonel Stepan Gevorgyan, the Deputy Commander for Military-Political Affairs, the senior chaplain of the Defense Army, and representatives from various civic organizations.

While congratulating the heroes of the day, the deputy commanders and other speakers emphasized the significance of the event in the context of the smooth transition of generations in the army and meeting the challenges faced by Armenian statehood, assuring that all sectors of society and the Defense Army command will stand by the draftees throughout their service and jointly address any challenges that may arise.

At the conclusion of the event, prayer books were distributed to the draftees, and the selection of their future service locations took place through a traditional lottery.
