Surenians Forecast for New Year Weather
The head of the Meteorological Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia, Gagik Surenyan, stated during an interview with "First News" that a noticeable increase in temperature has been observed since today. "If yesterday the temperature in the capital during the daytime was +5, +6 degrees, today it has reached +11, +12. In the Tavush and Syunik valleys, there is a spring-like picture with temperatures reaching +18 degrees, and in the coming days, it will reach +22, +23 degrees," he noted.
Regarding the expected weather for the New Year, Gagik Surenyan said, "Our accurate forecasts are limited to a ten-day period; however, considering that an exceptionally strong warm wave has taken hold over Russia, Europe, Asia Minor, and the Caucasus and will not retreat until December 26, in addition to the fact that from December 18, a second warm air stream will approach our republic, we can say that if there are any precipitation during the New Year, it will not be in the form of snow in the Ararat Plain and Yerevan."
