Video: Targeted Pensioners and Stole Over 1 Million Drams; Arrested

On November 16, the Arabkir division of the police received a report that a man, under the pretext of distributing assistance, entered the home of a 95-year-old pensioner and stole 900,000 drams. Additionally, he gave the pensioner a souvenir banknote of 13,000 rubles in exchange for taking 40,000 drams.

Similar reports were received by the police on November 23 and December 4. In the first case, 300,000 drams and 200 dollars were stolen, while in the second case, 110,000 drams and 11,000 rubles were taken. The victims were again elderly pensioners living alone.

Criminal investigators from the Arabkir police division undertook various operational measures and obtained factual data indicating that the same individual was responsible for all three thefts. A 37-year-old man was identified and taken into custody at the Arabkir police station, where he was presented to the authority conducting the investigation of the incidents. He provided a confession and was subsequently arrested and transferred to a correctional facility.

The preliminary investigation of the criminal case is ongoing.
