The Squad Commander Absent for Nearly 10 Months Received 1,290,000 AMD Salary
The Police continue their efforts to cleanse the ranks and eliminate illegal elements. An internal investigation by the Police's Internal Security Department revealed that the commander of the squad responsible for personal security and property protection of the Police Patrol Service left for Moscow in May 2018 without reporting to the leadership. There, he committed a crime as per the Russian Criminal Code by bribing, for which he was sentenced to 10 months of imprisonment by the Cherтановский Court in Moscow in July of the same year.
After serving his sentence, the squad commander of the Police Patrol Service returned to Armenia and resumed his duties. It was also discovered that the immediate supervisor, the platoon commander, and the head of the personal security and property protection division of the Police Patrol Service exhibited negligent and careless attitudes toward service, failing to monitor the squad commander's service for an extended period and not reporting his absence to the leadership of the Police Patrol Service.
As a result, the squad commander was absent from duty for nearly 10 months and received a salary of 1,290,000 AMD, causing significant damage to the state. Furthermore, in a bid to conceal the fact of the squad commander's absence, false information was inserted into official documents concerning his participation in physical fitness assessments, receipt of military supplies, and shooting practices.
Following the enforceable nature of the conviction, the commander of the squad was dismissed from the Police by order of the chief of police. Materials prepared regarding the incidents have been forwarded to the Special Investigative Service of the Republic of Armenia.
