VIDEO: Red Beret Insults Protester During Detention, Says Ani Samsonyan

Armenian National Assembly member Ani Samsonyan, who was present at the central police division, shared information regarding the activists in a conversation with journalists after exiting the facility. According to the MP, one of the protesters reported being insulted by the red berets while being detained.

“I have spoken to everyone. They were sitting calmly. There were no complaints from the police division. The only issue was that they were not allowed to use their phones; I think we resolved that issue on the spot. There were those who claimed that the detentions were unlawful. We spoke with the head of the department. If there are complaints, they will be addressed. I was also informed that an insult was hurled by a red beret member. If there are complaints, those who were detained will definitely talk about it,” said the parliamentarian.
