Collision Between Freight Train and Mercedes in Yerevan; Driver Transferred to Hospital

On December 3rd, a collision occurred in Yerevan involving a freight train and a vehicle. At approximately 00:50, emergency services received reports that around 00:15 on Noragavit 1st Street, a freight train collided with a Mercedes vehicle bearing the license plate 05 ZZ 155.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, as a result of the collision, the driver of the Mercedes was transferred to the ‘Astghik’ Medical Center for medical assistance.

Police have identified the driver of the Mercedes as Gagik Melikyan. Authorities are currently investigating the full details of both the Mercedes driver and the train conductor, with the train registered under the South Caucasus Railways LLC.
