VIDEO: Traffic Police Inspector Aided in Obtaining Driver's License - Another Revelation
The police are consistent and intolerant not only in the fight against crime but also in the process of cleansing their ranks from criminal elements. The latest result of this struggle was recorded recently.
As a result of extensive operational and investigative measures, operational data was obtained concerning the misconduct of a senior inspector from the traffic police's registration and examination unit at the North Center in Gyumri. Based on this information, an internal investigation revealed that a resident of Gyumri had bribed the senior inspector with 50,000 drams on November 24, in order to pass the practical exam required for obtaining a driver's license through the mediation of another resident of the city.
After handing over the money, the individual participated in the practical exam, which was conducted by the senior inspector from the traffic police's registration and examination unit. Acting in favor of the person who had come for the examination, without the applicant completing the required normative driving exercises, the inspector assessed the examination positively, resulting in the individual receiving their driver's license.
During the internal investigation, factual data was gathered regarding the apparent crimes of bribery, and the materials prepared in the administrative proceedings were submitted to the Special Investigative Service.
