Soldier Who Died from Gunshot Wound Would Have Turned 21 Today: Details
Today, a conscript soldier named Arthur Ajamyan, who died from a gunshot wound under still unclear circumstances while stationed at one of the military outposts in the northeastern direction, would have turned 21 years old. He was from the village of Artashar in the Armavir region and was of Yazidi ethnicity. This information was shared with NEWS.am by the village mayor, Manvel Ohanian.
The mayor stated that they still do not know the details surrounding his death. Arthur had been drafted into the army in January of this year.
“His grandparents were taking care of him, as his parents were divorced. His mother lived in the Masis region, and we had no information from her at all. His father is remarried and lives abroad. He lived with his mother for a while, then his grandparents brought him to live with them. He has a brother from his father’s side, while his mother is not remarried. He was a very calm, smart, and moderate child. We still don’t know what has happened or the circumstances of the incident,” the mayor said.
He noted that the deceased soldier's grandparents are retired and engage in animal husbandry and farming.
Previously, it was reported that on December 2, at around 06:50, a soldier of the Artsakh Defense Army, born in 1998, Arthur Ishkhan Ajamyan, sustained a fatal gunshot wound under still unclear circumstances at one of the military outposts stationed in the northeastern direction, while another soldier, Davit Harutyun Melikbekyan, born in 1999, was injured. An investigation is underway to clarify the details of the incident.
