Black Friday in Armenia: 10 Crimes Reported
The Armenian Police has released a clarification regarding the thefts that occurred during Black Friday.
Several users on social media have commented on the crimes that took place in the vicinity of one of the shopping centers. To clarify, on November 29, the number of visitors to shopping centers increased significantly, as expected for Black Friday, prompting the police to implement enhanced service measures, including at the Dalma Garden Mall on Tsitsernakaberd highway and its adjacent parking areas.
Due to the unprecedented number of customers, many parked their cars quite far from the shopping center, in forested and unsupervised areas. On that day, the Malatia division of the police, which covers the area of the aforementioned shopping center, reported 10 criminal incidents. Specifically, there were five thefts from various shops within the center, of which four have been solved, along with one attempted robbery that has also been resolved. Additionally, there were three thefts from vehicles parked near Tsitsernakaberd highway and one case of intentional property damage.
Operational investigative measures are being undertaken to uncover all reported crimes.
