Young Man Released Under Amnesty Steals Student's Car and Gets into Accident

Today, on November 27, an unusual incident occurred in the Aragatsotn region. Around 11:20 AM, the police department in Ashtarak received a call indicating that a VAZ 2106 car with Russian license plates had been involved in an accident on Aragaci Street in the village of Voskewaz, in front of the village school, and there were injuries.

As reported by shamshyan.com, while doctors were fighting for the injured person's life, police from the Aragatsotn regional administration and the Ashtarak department determined that the individual transported to the hospital was not the actual owner of the vehicle, but had stolen it. Citizens gathered at the scene stated: ‘The car owner, who is a student at Yerevan State Medical University, had visited the village barber to get a haircut and shave. At that moment, the young man entered the barber shop and asked if there was a taxi or taxi service nearby. When told that this was a barber shop and not a taxi service, he muttered something under his breath and left. After that, the car owner, who is from Voskewaz, heard the engine sound and upon exiting the barber shop, saw that his car had been stolen. Immediately, they tried to pursue the thief with the barber and reported the incident to the authorities.

Upon leaving the barber shop, they discovered the car had already been involved in an accident. The medical student, showing a humane approach, first forgot about his stolen and damaged vehicle and provided medical assistance to the car thief along with his friends, after which they helped transport him to the hospital by ambulance.

According to G. Shamshyan, the car thief had previously been convicted and was recently released under the amnesty.
