Gohar Vardanyan, Notable Intelligence Operative, Passes Away

The Armenian Embassy in Russia reports that renowned underground intelligence operative Gohar Vardanyan has passed away today at the age of 93.

Gohar Vardanyan was born on January 25, 1926, in Leninakan (Gyumri), Armenia. In the early 1930s, her family moved to Iran. At the age of 16, she joined the anti-fascist group led by her future husband and comrade, Gevorg Vardanyan, with whom she conducted active intelligence work.
