Why Police Visited Sarhat Petrosyan's Apartment: New Details
The employees of the 6th Department of the Police visited the apartment of the former head of the State Cadastre Committee, Sarhat Petrosyan, for a clarification invitation. This was reported by the Police Information Department.
It is noteworthy that Sarhat Petrosyan stated in an interview with Newarmenia.am that the police came based on a statement from an organization claiming that Petrosyan's statements involved punishable actions.
Petrosyan has been invited to the police regarding statements about Avetik Eloyan, an advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister and former chairman of the Urban Development Committee.
Earlier, he had asserted that Avetik Eloyan was involved in “clan-based corruption.” Petrosyan presented that in 2012, Avetik Eloyan opened the design organization “Eloyan Architects” in the USA with his brother, Zareh Eloyan, which has only one residential interior project listed on its official website from Armenia.
According to him, “Eloyan Architects” is currently involved in a new football complex, a multi-storey residential area in the Dalma region, and several other projects. “Let’s add the renowned 70-story building project, which, as stated in the interview, was commissioned at the end of 2017. Although this claim seems questionable, if it can be proven that it was commissioned before the appointment, then regarding this project, I think we can be at ease (more so, apologize), but, in any case, the question remains how our best interior designer, Zareh Eloyan, is continuing this work without the ‘experienced’ Avetik Eloyan,” Petrosyan said.
In response, Eloyan stated that he intends to file a lawsuit against Petrosyan, which he has already done.
