Thieves Steal Fireproof Safe from Private Entrepreneur’s Home, Including $20,000 and Gold Jewelry

The Investigative Committee of Armenia has initiated a criminal case concerning a residential burglary in the Syunik Province. On November 21, the police department in Kapan received a report from Anush H., a resident of Kajaran, claiming that a burglary had occurred at her brother's residence. Police and investigators determined that between 2:00 PM on November 20 and 1:00 PM on November 21, an unknown individual or individuals entered the apartment at the specified address in Kajaran by using a modified key to unlock the front door. They stole a metal fireproof safe from the master bedroom.

Relatives of the homeowner informed arriving police and investigators that the stolen fireproof safe contained $20,000 and 35 pieces of various weights and types of gold, precious jewelry.

Police and investigators are conducting necessary operational investigative actions to solve the crime, identify the perpetrator(s), and recover the stolen items. According to the source, the victim is a well-known private entrepreneur in Kajaran.
