Necessary Documents Being Prepared for Levon Sargsyan's Extradition

Levon Sargsyan, known as "Alraghatsi Lyovik" and a former member of the National Assembly, is currently facing the process of extradition from the Russian Federation to the Republic of Armenia. The Armenian Prosecutor's Office is preparing a package of documents to be forwarded to the Russian side for this purpose, according to Gor Abrahamyan, advisor to the Prosecutor General, in response to a question from "Haykakan Zhamanak."

It is noteworthy that today the police reported that as a result of large-scale operational-search activities conducted jointly by the Main Department of Criminal Investigation, the Armenian Police Representative Office in Russia, and relevant subdivisions of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Levon Hrachyayi Sargsyan, born in 1968 and a resident of Yerevan, was identified and arrested on November 21 in Zelenograd, Moscow.

Levon Sargsyan has been involved as an accused in a case concerning organizing a robbery with particularly large-scale property thefts and participating in criminal collaboration. Given that he had been absent from Armenia for a long time and his whereabouts were unknown, he was placed on the wanted list on October 1, 2018, and arrest was chosen as the measure of restraint. In connection with the same case, charges were also brought against Levon Sargsyan's relative, Suren Ghazaryan, who had been arrested; later, a signature to not leave was chosen as his measure of restraint.

The National Security Service’s press office reported that as a result of extensive operational-search and investigative actions, it was established that the actual orderer of the robbery was Levon Sargsyan, a former member of the National Assembly known to the public as "Alraghatsi Lyovik," who, due to tense relations with Armen Avetisyan, had ordered members of a criminal gang involved in several robberies to carry out the aforementioned crime.

To facilitate the attack and achieve the desired outcome, Levon Sargsyan obtained and provided the gang with a detailed layout of the private house belonging to Armen Avetisyan through his relative, S. Gh., who had direct contacts with Avetisyan and was familiar with the structure of his house, including the locations of fireproof safes. After the robbery, Levon Sargsyan selected and took the gold jewelry and expensive watches that caught his interest from the stolen goods.
