The Pandemic Has Reached Artur Vanetsyan: Levon Barseghyan
Levon Barseghyan, the chairman of the Journalists' 'Asparez' club, wrote on his Facebook page: “The pandemic has reached Vanetsyan. Mr. Vanetsyan briefly responding to the question of whether the activities of Soros' foundation pose risks for Armenia, stated, ‘Yes.’
If we consider that this former official could not ensure the confidentiality of his phone conversations, or perhaps did not want to, we can understand the quality of his reasoning. Nevertheless, he served for a long time as a high-ranking official of Armenia's National Security Service and has been its director for over a year. During all this time, witnessing the struggles and wars governments have fought against this foundation in Turkey, Russia, Hungary, and Azerbaijan, he should have likely made efforts to neutralize the dangers he was aware of.
We can imagine monitoring bank accounts, wiretaps, preparing dossiers, small-scale informational and material diversions... and he failed to shut down the foundation and especially the over 2000 organizations cooperating with it.
Later, perhaps he found out that this foundation supported not only “homeless,” “spy,” “anti-national” NGOs and individuals but also the Armenian Apostolic Church, the Matenadaran, universities, students, state institutions, and got entangled in this web. Or at the time, when all the wiretaps and evidence of various criminal dealings were in hand, he wanted to shut down the foundation and partner organizations and was told from above, ‘okay, let’s continue using the state apparatus; take it easy...’
Otherwise, it is hard to understand the contradiction between his conviction regarding the foundation’s danger and his inaction regarding it. It is not too late to see what he is waiting for. He is at the National Security Service, that is, the Armenian KGB, because without lustration there can be no national security and NSS; almost all are his former colleagues and Rob-Sev factions. Why is he hesitating, why doesn't he utilize the information and evidence he must have gathered over the years about the dangers? Perhaps he is waiting for journalists to ask questions, so he can respond, then they will ask more questions, and he will respond again until the country collapses and he finds himself carried away by the current, leaving us disgraced.
In this context, it is incomprehensible why he doesn’t join in the clownery of Malyari and Bazaz, why he doesn’t take the podium.
And if there is another reason for this ‘sincere outburst’, and it is the feverish monitoring of the media, he should read Goebbels’ theory of monkeys, according to which an armed NSS officer can easily become a victim of propaganda.
Or the reason is much simpler than the assumptions I made above. The man is in a restless search for how to explain his dismissal, what to say to damage Nikol and stay within the trend of justification so that at least those who also cannot stand Nikol will take seriously the alleged persecution against him through Soros’ foundation, which resulted in Nikol removing him from his post.
In other words, he wants to say that if Soros and his foundation did not exist, Nikol would not have dismissed him, he would have continued to serve his country and eliminate the dangers for eternity. Thus, he has proven to everyone that the pandemic has reached him. Let us fervently pray, friends. Next year, let us wait for Vanetsyan in front of Soros' office alongside Bazaz, with a placard in hand that reads: ‘My God, I am lost, what will happen...’
But there is also a hypothesis that a time will come when he will say that when answering the question ‘Yes’, he was somewhat misunderstood, he meant that everything harms everything, and in general, it is not worth turning into a camel and listing every ridiculousness.”
