Serzh Sargsyan's Speech Another Expression of Fear: Alen Simonian

From the podium of the Yerkrapah Volunteer Union, I assess Serzh Sargsyan's speech as yet another expression of fear. I urge him to speak as much as possible. This was stated by Alen Simonian, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, during a conversation with journalists after the regular meeting of the Football Federation of Armenia.

“Serzh Sargsyan is not the person, nor the politician, who should be giving evaluations, because he has had the opportunity to act correctly and has missed that chance. Moreover, he has behaved in such a way that the people have taken to the streets and rejected him. For 10 years, he has taken all opportunities from the citizens of Armenia and has done so in the worst possible way, which has led him to give such speeches now and try to defend himself. But who he is defending himself from is unclear, because one does not defend themselves from their own people,” said the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly.

Referring to the presence of an Azerbaijani individual during the meeting with representatives of the Armenian community and the Prime Minister at the Church of Saint Forty Martyrs in Milan yesterday, Alen Simonian stated, “I do not think he was a blogger. This once again speaks to the readiness and type of the Armenian side. This was yet another attempt to somehow fuel the aggressive statements made by Azerbaijan. I condemn this and consider it a cheap trick.”
